What began as a blank-slate formal living room was transformed into a bold, inviting retreat designed for both everyday living and effortless entertaining. As the first room guests see upon entering the home, we wanted the space to make an impression while still feeling warm, comfortable, and collected.

We color drenched the room in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, creating a rich backdrop for layers of antique furnishings, custom millwork, patterned textiles, and thoughtfully selected Visual Comfort lighting. Custom built-ins, designed in collaboration with a local master craftsman, frame the doorway and add architectural character and a sense of permanence to the room.

A cherished antique round table was incorporated into a custom banquette, creating an intimate corner for catching up on emails, playing mahjong with friends, or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee.

At the center of the conversation area, a rich green velvet sofa balances sophistication with comfort, while classic silhouettes and unexpected pattern bring personality to the space. The result is a timeless living room with a twist—equally suited for entertaining friends, relaxing at the end of the day, or simply enjoying a beautiful room that feels distinctly personal.
